Who we are
Amidst the hustle and bustle of the one global world, several individuals with common connect of academics or profession seemed to be getting more and more disillusioned by the so called various developments and developmental approaches. Endless debates and discussion over several diverse yet interlinked issues never seemed enough to a way forward. Is the process of globalization corroding the good values and never letting one think of it? Why has money become the most important commodity which has overpowered all? Why all development work and financial aid pumped in has not been enough? Why is isolation and self centeredness increasing day by day particularly in the well off educated lot? Who is going to stay back in the village? Is their a serious threat to agriculture? Whose responsibility to preserve the ecological destructions? Such a list grew longer and longer, testing patience of individuals who wanted to change a lot, until they came together to pledge to not sit back and watch but ‘act now’. Thus, evolved this organization, which has been named ‘Development Initiatives’ to undertake, the very many initiatives, needed for promoting a peaceful harmonious global community.
