Ensuring Access, Quality, and Holistic Education for Poor and Vulnerable Children
This transformative initiative, supported by CRY (Child Rights and You), has been implemented since September 2022 in four urban slums of Jaipur, with an extended outreach to six additional slum areas through voluntary and individual support. Collectively, the project has reached and benefited over 6,500 children, aiming to bridge educational gaps and empower children from marginalized and underserved communities.
The project is grounded in the belief that every child has the right to quality and holistic education, regardless of their socio-economic background. We work directly with communities, schools, parents, and children to ensure access to education, enhance learning outcomes, and promote all-round development.
Key Objectives and Focus Areas:
-
Access to Education:
We work to ensure that all children—regardless of caste, class, or gender—can enroll in and attend schools, whether public or private. Our team actively engages with families and community leaders to address barriers to school access and retention.
-
Improving Education Quality:
DIS partners with schools to support teaching and learning through interventions like learning level assessments, customized study plans, remedial workshops, teaching learning material, academic support, and interactive activities such as quizzes, competitions, and learning camps. Our goal is to ensure children not only attend school but also learn effectively.
-
Holistic Development:
Education must go beyond textbooks. We promote holistic education that equips children with life skills, emotional intelligence, communication skills, values, and self-confidence—enabling them to grow into responsible, informed, and empathetic adults.
Through this project, DIS and CRY are committed to transforming the educational journey of vulnerable children by making it more inclusive, empowering, and meaningful—preparing them not just for exams, but for life.
