On the occasion of World Environment Day, DIS organized a vibrant and impactful Plantation and Sanitation Drive aimed at fostering environmental awareness and responsibility among young minds. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from school children, teachers, and community members.
As part of the initiative, over 1,000 trees were planted, transforming the surroundings into greener and healthier spaces. Students actively took part in the plantation activities, gaining hands-on experience in nurturing nature and understanding the critical role trees play in sustaining life on Earth.
In addition to the plantation drive, a sanitation campaign was conducted to promote cleanliness and hygiene in and around the school premises and neighboring areas. Children and volunteers engaged in cleaning efforts, spreading the message of maintaining a clean and healthy environment.
The day also served as a platform for environmental education, where students were sensitized about the importance of ecosystem conservation, biodiversity preservation, and the need for collective action to protect our planet. Interactive sessions, posters, and discussions helped instill a deeper understanding of environmental issues and inspired the young participants to become eco-conscious citizens.
DIS remains committed to promoting sustainable practices and environmental stewardship, and this World Environment Day celebration was a testament to that ongoing commitment.
