Vikas Lodha’s Transformation

Vikas Lodha, a 6-year-old boy from Valmiki Basti, lives with his father, an auto-rickshaw driver, his mother, who works as a house help, and his elder brother.

When Vikas first joined the Children Activity Centre (CAC) a year ago, he was extremely shy and emotional. His attendance was irregular, and he struggled to interact with other children. Small issues would often make him cry, and he found it difficult to express himself or participate in group activities.

With consistent support, engagement, and interactive activities, Vikas gradually began to open up. He became calmer, more socially confident, and started attending CAC regularly. Over time, he not only became comfortable but also brought his friends along, encouraging them to join. His participation in activities like crafts, storytelling, and games helped enhance his social skills and emotional regulation.

A significant turning point in Vikas’s journey was his enrollment in National Public School. Attending school regularly, he has shown remarkable progress in his learning and behavior. His improved academic readiness, discipline, and enthusiasm reflect the transformation he has undergone.

Today, Vikas is one of the most active and enthusiastic children at the CAC. He not only participates confidently but also encourages other children to join. On school holidays, he eagerly returns to the centre with his friends, showcasing his leadership skills and continued interest in learning. Vikas’s journey highlights the impact of early intervention, a nurturing environment, and consistent guidance, proving that with the right support, even the most reserved children can flourish into confident learners and leaders.
